The story of Rowdy Rathore revolves around a man named Jai Singh Rathore who lives in a village named Mandwa. He is a man who becomes extremely close to nature and often lives with his beloved dog 'Kuma'. They both spend their time hunting and fishing together to make a living. One day, one of Rathore's friends comes over for a visit and brings back news of the arrival of an outsider named Gaurav Chauhan and his wife. Rathore immediately dislikes this coming change in his life and the friend tries to convince him otherwise however Rathore refuses to listen. To ensure that all his fears are right, he sends the friend away so that he can see for himself what has come to him by staying on with Gaurav Chauhan. In the mean time, Gaurav Chauhan is shown as a rich man who lives happily with his wife Pooja. The household was being run by Pooja because everything was left at her hands. She runs her chores like a pro and handles things very positively; managing to keep the household in order. She also manages to handle two kids (Maya & Dev). Everything changes when Gaurav's brother Aditya arrives along with his girlfriend Madhu Sharma. He is shown as an arrogant man who feels that because of the money he has; he has every right to act however he pleases including his hatred towards dogs which is ridiculed by everyone else around him. He loves to brag about his business with Aditya. Madhu Sharma is shown as an overweight lady with absolutely no interest in cooking whatsoever. The platter of food that she brings is rejected by everyone else and gets thrown into the bin. She too is ridiculed for her bad cooking skills and husband's reason of marrying her was just because he saw her HUGE wealth. However, Pooja requests them to stay at their home for a couple of days until they could reach their own place however, things get worse when they are forced to stay more than a day which forces Pooja to reach out to some help.
